Couples & Marital Therapy

Is love bigger than pain? Initiating couples therapy often means that something has gone wrong, that we are hurt, scared, and insecure about the relationship with the person with whom we have promised to love forever. Clients are frequently surprised and encouraged to learn that ample research is available on what makes for a stable and happy life partnership. I draw heavily from this research in my approach to couples therapy. My training as a family therapist has laid a firm foundation in working with couples. In addition, my training in behavior therapy has informed my work with scientific data that offers couples clear, accessible information. Both approaches help clients reflect on their relationships with compassion, understanding, empathy, and willingness to heal and forgive.
